The more I use this pen, the more I love it. In that price-range, this pen is definitely a find and a give-away too. First of all, it glides beautifully, it is a bit thicker than the fine nib Pilot Prera, which in the photo is with red ink (and I don’t have a medium Prera to compare), but it is definitely thinner than medium Pilot 78G (green ink). That is just the beginning. It has a metal, not plastic body, very well executed, and that makes all the difference in the world. It’s cool to touch, sleek, and pleasantly heavy in the hand, long enough to provide a nice balance while writing. With 78G being roughly in the same price range, there is absolutely no comparison with regard to the look and the feel, Metropolitan does not look or feel cheap. I have not had a chance to compare this one with a fine nib 78G, but even if 78G happened to be finer, still, I would never buy one again, because its cheap plastic feel spoils half of the pleasure of writing with it.
Here is where I bought this fine nib Metropolitan http://www.jetpens.com/Pilot-Metropolitan-Fountain-Pen-Fine-Nib-Violet-Leopard-Body/pd/12078 and I would buy it again, and perhaps evermore than once :). Too bad it does not come in dark red.
